Testing the limitations of paint while exploring the material essence of figurative and literal representation.

Experiential Painting 2008 - 2012

Cosmic Dust 2011

Emphasizing the micro-macro size relationships developing on the surface, these process-based experiential paintings examine the crossroads of each incorporated material form within a grander ideation of what it means to exist within cosmic dust and relative time.

Exploring concepts of seriality, order and evolution as they pertain to landscape painting and design schema.

Relative 2010

The Beach 2008

Meditative paintings made at the beach while exploring nature and pattern recognition.

Realizing the ubiquity of mass-mediated childhood memories, this series questions my unfounded obsession with space exploration while showing the distance from source material.  Making paintings from haphazard paper constructions of photocopies, the end result is a re-interpretation of the Beau Idéal attached to classical still lifes and landscapes.  In this realm, images of the Space Race act as representations of, and stand-ins for, seminal acts of pioneering and colonization.
